  shocker at the group last week..... i was at the group last week (1st in about 4 weeks) and the conductor (the p.o.

  ) takes a sister aside and tells her that she was not allowed to breastfeed her baby before or after the book study because "someone" found it awkward.. hmm, i wonder if it was him that found it awkward.. anyway the twist in the story is that the group meets at her house.

  the sisters husband was far from happy but is to reserved to do anything about it.

  She would feed in her seat in the corner of the room the group was in but in a discreet way.

  If this was said to my wife in my house I would have totally lost it.

  Our P.O. is renowned for being a controlling man.

  Hmm, I wonder if it was him that found it awkward.

  Anyway the twist in the story is that the group meets at HER house. The sisters husband was far from happy but is to reserved to do anything about it. I told him that if anyone said that to my wife, the group would be out of my house immediately.

  The P.O. actually said that if she did not comply that the group would need to move to another location. (GRRRR, RAGE)

  It is a total disgrace this goes on.

  guys: i just need to vent a little.

  as you may know, ive been working for a couple of months, trying to make my wife think by herself.

  she started to do it, and i noticed it when she started arguing with her parents about some wt policies some weeks ago.

  At the moment my situation is very similar. I am trying to fade gradually and my wife is beginning to see the change.

  I was an elder up to November 07 and stood down, ever since I have been playing this double role which I HATE doing.

  I have discussed some of my concerns with my wife and she just stops me when she does not know how to answer. Once again i HATE putting her in this position. I recently was asked to do a bible reading at the hall, gut feeling was "i do not want to" but to keep the fade going I had to appear to be still a JW at heart. But i understand your problem - you will be like me and many others, you have zero motivation in helping others come into the org.

  Perhaps it is time for a real heart to heart with your dear wife!!!! I do not mean tell her everything but perhaps just say you have your doubts, faith in org is weaker than it used to be and perhaps someone else should take the bible study. In the end, if you try and conduct the study you will find it a real challenge to keep it up.

  I love my wife more than anything else, the same as you feel regarding your wife I am sure, but my wife gets emotional when I discuss having doubts about the org. I have tried to break the news gradually and it is getting there.

  I suppose above all else we owe our companions in life some honesty but its easier said than done. It is like puling the carpet from under there feet. A few months ago I had had a few drinks and started saying to much, I told my wife about the Child Molestation, UN scandal etc etc. I said I found meetings hard going. She started to well up. She pointed at our favourite painting on the wall, a couple walking through the Canadian countryside, and she said "thats us in the new system", "I want to live forever with you"!!

  Well it ripped my heart in two!!! In fact I am getting quite emotional typing this....

  I just wanted you to know that you are not alone in your difficulties.

  had a chat the other day with an elder who lnows jws all over the world and he was telling me that in a u.s. cong a sister has just decided she is one of the 144000 - she is 41 years old.

  in the same cong a brother aged 55 has recently decided he is one of the immortals as well.. they both claim that the holy spirit has bore witness to them.. what do you think such ones are actually feeling?

  Had a chat the other day with an elder who lnows JWs all over the world and he was telling me that in a U.S. cong a sister has just decided she is one of the 144000 - she is 41 years old. In the same cong a brother aged 55 has recently decided he is one of the immortals as well.

  They both claim that the Holy spirit has bore witness to them.

  What do you think such ones are actually feeling? I do not doubt they are feeling something inside that is making them "think" they are anointed.

  Is it all in the mind??

  i know jaracz was publicly accused of molesting a young girl (now an adult).

  Hi folks.

  I just have to say that some topics on this board are real shockers and truly enlightening. I am totally dumn struck by the info here.

  This thread, for me, is one of the most damning threads against the org I have ever read, oh if only rank and file JWs could read some of this stuff.

  The GB are held in such high esteem by the masses and yet look at what is really going on.

  Thanks for posting it.

  NBC did a news item on the child molestation cases involving JWs & the WTBTS.

  The org issued a statement on there media website straight after it was aired.

  The connection is that on page 3 of the Keep on the Watch brochure it mentions child molestation, but in a finger pointing way at other religions.

  Its just a guess but that could be the reason for the change in offer for the month in January.

  Not a huge deal really, just unusual.

  Must be something to do with the NBC news coverage last week.

  this is the third elder that tells me that the body of elders will recommend me as an elder in the next visit of the co.. what do you think i should do?

  some facts:.

  i am still 'in' because of my family.i am ms.i am doing 10+ fake hours (well, some months it is fake), so they see my "spiritual" progress.-ootb.

  I was an elder until recently - my advice - do not do it. Its alot more work and I also agree with others that it is dishonest.
